Welcome to Bugg Haus – the quirky, charming home in the middle of woods. Allow us to tell you a little bit about our story. The theme and intended vibe of Bugg Haus was inspired by the previous owners – a German couple who surrounded the property with butterfly bushes, wildflower gardens, and a fruit and nut orchard (along with great amenities like a 30 ft in-ground salt water pool – thanks Frans!). We thought it proper to pay them homage through our German inspired name and decided to embrace the world of funky garden nature, focusing much of our decor on insects, mushrooms, and flowers. 

Bugg Haus is just 2.5 hours north of NYC in Freehold, NY. It’s tucked away off a long, wooded, secluded drive on a 15 acre lot in the heart of the Catskills. Being a 7 bedroom, 6 bathroom home, it’s a space meant to be shared with larger groups of family and friends that can come together in celebration or just to spend some quality time together away from the hustle and bustle of the city. It has also been a space that has suited retreats giving smaller companies in NYC a chance to rejuvenate together in a different environment. There are many pockets of the home that allow for guests to gather all together or break into more intimate groups all while enjoying the gorgeous view of the Catskill Mountains (We're not kidding when we say you can see this view from almost every room in the house). It was carefully curated with amenities meant to suit all ages – from yard games, nature puzzles, Super Nintendo (yes, in our special mushroom Mario room), and an outdoor movie projector screen to our fully equipped kitchen, in-ground pool, hot tub, and firepit – there is plenty to do if you don’t plan on leaving the house. We of course also have recommendations if you want to explore the surrounding area as well!
